Three weeks in, three to go -- it's halftime...

... and Fausto couldn't be happier!

Note: For those of you joing us late in the game, three weeks ago Fausto woke up without the use of his back legs. A CT scan revealed some abnormalities with his spinal cord (IVDD) which could be fixed via surgery or six-weeks bed-rest. We all opted for the latter. Here we are three weeks later and things seem to be progressing nicely. Check back in another three weeks to see the fully healed Fausto.

And that's the only thing I need...

... I don't need this or this. Just this bowl of nibbly's... and my monster truck bowl of water. The bowl of nibbly's and my monster truck bowl of water and that's all I need... and my froggie. The bowl of nibbly's, the monster truck bowl of water, and my froggie, and that's all I need... and my blanket. The bowl of nibbly's, and the monster truck bowl of water, and my froggie, and my blanket. And this lamp...

Day two...

... and Fausto is already bored.

Fausto is feeling puny

It turns out Fausto has IVDD -- some spinal issue that usually affects the longer bodied dogs (like Dachshunds). He's got bulges and extrusions and protrusions in a few spots along his back. He's still a little functional, walking like a drunk but still walking so the doctors think he'll be OK after 6 weeks of crate rest. Anyone know where we can get a tiny TV?
